The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has formally presented its 2025 budget to the Joint National Assembly Committee on Aviation and Aviation Technology, today, 22nd January, 2025 at the National Assembly Complex room 223.
During the presentation, the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, CON, FICArb (UK), highlighted the ministry's commitment to transparency and accountability in managing public resources. He provided a breakdown of the 2024 budget performance, noting that:
- Capital Appropriation achieved a utilization rate of 30.9%
- Personnel Appropriation was fully utilized at 100%
- Overhead Appropriation recorded a near-complete utilization of 99.97%
The Minister presented the proposed 2025 budget, totalling Seventy-One Billion, One Hundred and Twenty-Three Million, Three Hundred and Sixty-Eight Thousand, Sixty-Nine naira (N71,123,368,069). The allocation is distributed as follows:
- Capital Appropriation: ₦69,220,036,250
- Personnel Cost: ₦1,157,589,143
- Overhead Cost: ₦745,742,676
Keyamo emphasized that the proposed budget reflects the ministry's strategic priorities in advancing the aviation and aerospace sectors, ensuring improved infrastructure, and enhancing service delivery across the nation.
